Tommy & Lefebvre set to return to mid-town

Mid-town urbanites will be pleased to note that not only is Tommy & Lefebvre rebuilding their burnt down flagship store at the corner of Bank St and McLeod, but that they will be adding a second storey to house office and additional retail space.

Unfortunately, the proposed building is something of a travesty from both an architectural and aesthetic point of view, with about as much appeal as a big box store:

What a shame that Tommy & Lefebvre isn't rebuilding something more impressive that plays off the heritage motif located within these blocks of Bank St. That said, it is nonetheless good news for the neighbourhood to see a major retail anchor return to this end of Bank St, and the addition of extra retail space can only serve to revitalize this somewhat tired section of mid-town.
